The negative impact of restrictions in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic is spreading to the activities of almost all major producing countries. Consumer spending fell significantly, which led to a 40-50% reduction in exports of women's shoes and other goods from China to the United States and Europe.
The footwear industry has been in decline since 2019. Similar trends await us at the end of 2020. Global growth in footwear production and exports has stalled at 0.6%. Most likely, this figure will be a record for more than one year.
As before, the main center of the footwear industry remains Asia, which produces 9 out of 10 pairs of PU shoes for women. And, accordingly, it consumes more than 50% of the world's footwear production, in which the share of Europe and North America is 15% each.
